Bar Manager / Social Assistant
Responsibilities:
• Stock control sales and management of our private student club
• Keeping the bar area and public areas of the school in an acceptable condition
• Assisting with the organisation of excursions and activities
• General Administrative work including some data input
Hours of work: applicants will be expected to open the Club in the mornings or afternoons, at break times and 2-3 evenings per week.
Total number of hours will not exceed 25 per week.
Ideal candidate: Would suit a responsible person with good people skills.
Academic Assistant
Responsibilities:
• Assisting the Academic Manager with all administrative aspects of the school
• Preparing student welcome packs
• Providing administrative support to teaching staff
• Preparing leaving certificates for all students
• Stock control Hours of work: 09:30 to 13:00 Monday to Friday
Office Assistant
Responsibilities:
Assisting with all administrative tasks in our busy booking office and with the academic administration of the language school tasks include:
• Responsibility for the daily post
• The accurate filing of all documents relating to student bookings
• Data input (applicants must be computer literate)
• Assisting the Academic Manager in the preparation of identity cards and leaving certificates for students at the school. Hours of work: Either between 09:30 and 13:00 or 14:00 and 17:00 Monday to Friday (hours will be decided according to our needs)
For all positions we would expect the students to have at least an intermediate level of English, be available to work for at least 6 (preferably 8) weeks over the summer, and be aged over 18. We are particularly keen to fill the first two positions mentioned above.
These positions give the students an ideal opportunity to work within an English company as well as benefiting from a minimum of 9 hours of English language classes in our British Council accredited school. Students would either be expected to work in the mornings and have lessons in the afternoon, or to work in the afternoons and have lessons in the morning.
The positions are unpaid, but the language classes are free in return for the work. Students on the work experience programme only need to pay for their accommodation, which is charged at our standard rate (£110 per week half board, Monday-Friday, full board at weekends).
